ROHAN McCULLOUGH

ROHAN McCULLOUGH, “a fantastically talented and moving actress” (said The Scotsman) began her career in the original cast of the legendary musical Hair. She appeared in Jean-Louis Barrault’s Rabelais, as Antigone in Oedipus at Colonus (Manchester Royal Exchange), and in Les Liaisons Dangereuses (RSC).  She has also appeared in films by Derek Jarman and David Hare.

She achieved her most notable success with her one-woman plays, with which she has toured the world: The Testament of Youth (Swan Theatre, Stratford and West End season), The Tale of Beatrix Potter (U.S., Australia, Saito Kinen Festival, Japan), The Towers of Trebizond (selected as “pick of the performances” at the Edinburgh Festival), and most recently My Darling Clemmie, which is the remarkable, moving and highly entertaining story of the woman who married one of the truly great figures of the 20th century: Sir Winston Churchill.

She has given poetry and prose recitals with Sir Derek Jacobi, Edward Fox, Robert Powell and John Julius Norwich.  For many years she appeared with the late Sir John Mortimer in Mortimer’s Miscellany.  She has performed as narrator with leading American symphony orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, the Cleveland Orchestra and the Boston Symphony at Carnegie Hall.
