Name: The Archers
Field: Broadcaster

Biography:

Judy Bennett

After 3 years training at Guildhall School of Music & Drama Judy began her professional career at the Globe Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue before auditioning for BBC Radio. For the past 30 years she has worked almost exclusively in sound studios, providing the voices for children's series such as Adventures of Rupert Bear, the Perishers and Dennis & Gnasher. She is perhaps most famous for her portrayal of Shula in The Archers, a role which she has enjoyed playing now for almost 26 years. She and her husband Charles Collingwood successfully toured the Far East with the stageplay Relatively Speaking by Alan Ayckbourn, the first time they appeared as husband and wife characters on stage!

Charles Collingwood

Charles Collingwood is no ordinary actor. Although trained at RADA his career has been intriguingly diverse. Apart from extensive theatre work, Charles has read the News on the World Service, presented countless children's TV shows, co-hosted a gameshow series with Bernard Manning and, of course, created the character Brian Aldridge ( the JR of Ambridge) in the Archers over 21 years ago. He was also the scorer holding Telly Addicts together with Noel Edmonds.
Charles has many stories to tell. Not just about his time in Ambridge but anecdotes relating to all and sundry across the world of show business. He has spoken in Men's Clubs, to Manchester United executives, Women's Institutes and recently at the Grosvenor House Antiques Fair lunch in London.
