Biography: Douglas Hurd spent 23 years in Parliament during which time he was Home Secretary and Northern Ireland Secretary in Margaret Thatcher’s cabinet. However, he is perhaps most famous for being Foreign Secretary at the end of the Cold War and during the war in Yugoslavia. Douglas Hurd retired from the House of Commons in 1997 and is now ready to talk about his role in some extraordinary developments in recent history.
