After Dinner Speaker Biography: William Roache is one of Britain's best loved and most recognisable actors. He is famous for playing Ken Barlow in Britain's favourite soap opera, Coronation Street, which he has appeared in continuously since the first episode in 1960 - a feat which got him into the Guinness Book of Records.
William Roache is also patron of Ilkeston based production company 'Sustained Magic Ltd' encourages arts development within Ilkeston and the East Midlands to help develop new actors.
