An Audience with Colin Dexter - From Books to Box

Biography: Oxford resident and hugely popular writer of the Inspector Morse novels. In ‘From Books to Box’ Colin talks about the mammoth challenge of transforming a full-length novel in to a 90-minute screen drama.

The first Inspector Morse novel - Last Bus To Woodstock - was published in 1975 as a result of a wet and windy family holiday in North Wales. 13 novels later, the last instalment - The Remorseful Day - was published in 1999.

A highly acclaimed writer, Colin Dexter has been the recipient of many awards for his work, including the Crime Writer’s Association Gold and Silver Dagger awards, and a special Cartier Diamond Dagger award for outstanding services to crime literature in 1997, and in 2000 Colin was awarded the Order of The British Empire for services to literature.
