Tim Brooke-Taylor gets OBE
Clive Conway Celebrity Productions regular Tim Brooke-Taylor has finally joined his two Goodies co-stars has the proud recipient of an OBE.
The actor and comedian who regularly appears around the country in An Audience With Tim Brooke-Taylor received his honour from Prince Charles in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
His colleagues in the 1970s TV comedy series The Goodies - Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie - were already OBEs.
After the ceremony Tim joked that the trio would now be able to sit on their famous three-seater bike with a medal apiece.
Ironically the show, which ran from 1970 to 1982, used to regularly send-up the number of OBEs that were dished out to entertainers.
“I have to admit one has to bite one's tongue,” Tim told reporters
An Audience With Tim Brooke-Taylor is back on the road next year playing the New Theatre, Cardiff, on February 28; Theatre Royal, Bury, on March 10, Perth Festival on May 26 and at Raymond Blanc’s award winning Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons restaurant iat Great Milton, Oxford,on September 20
