Description: Sue MacGregor has over the years become one of the most familiar voices of BBC radio. She was born in Oxford and brought up in South Africa, where she began her broadcasting career. She joined the BBC first as a producer, then a reporter on "The World at One", and for fifteen years presented "Woman's Hour" on Radio Four. For many years she fronted "Today", BBC radio's flagship early morning News and Current Affairs programme. She was their longest-serving presenter until she left in 2002.

She continues to work for Radio Four, being the presenter of among other programmes “A Good Read” and “The Reunion”. She is on the Board of the John Ellerman Foundation and the Young Concert Artists’ Trust, and is a trustee of UNICEF UK. She is an Honorary Member of the Royal College of Physicians, is the holder of several Honorary degrees and doctorates, and is an Honorary Fellow of Harris Manchester College Oxford. Her autobiography "Woman of Today" is published by Headline. She has received many broadcasting awards, and the CBE for services to broadcasting.
