Description: When Gyles Brandreth published his portrait of The Queen and Prince Philip it was described by Craig Brown in the Mail on Sunday as ‘A joy – thoughtful, outrageous, sympathetic, often hilarious, occasionally profound and unfailingly interesting. I came away with the strong feeling that I had glimpsed the Queen and Prince Philip for the first time as they really are.’

To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, Gyles Brandreth – writer, actor, wit and raconteur – presents a unique evening of stories, revelations and insights about The Queen and her family. A Royal Audience with Gyles Brandreth is exactly that: a chance to meet the man who – according to Libby Purves in The Times – ‘got closest to the human truth about our long-serving royals’. With tales of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Prince Harry (and one or two about the Queen Mother, Queen Victoria and even Elizabeth I along the way) this promises to be an entertaining, sometimes surprising, and often touching, right royal celebration.

Gyles Brandreth is a former MP and Lord Commissioner of the Treasury, now best known as a reporter on The One Show (BBC1) and a regular on Just A Minute (Radio 4). His two royal biographies have been much acclaimed.
