The eminent historian will give four talks on the following topics: Shakespeare's Kings, Venice, The English Country House and Byzantium: the Empire, The Art and The Architecture. Following twelve years in the Civil Service, Lord Norwich resigned in 1964 in order to write. His publications include The Architecture of Southern England, Glyndebourne, two poetry anthologies and, perhaps most famously, A History of Venice.

Lord Norwich is Chairman of the Venice in Peril Fund and Co-Chairman of the World Monuments Fund.
